Birthday Celebrations!

Two weekends ago, the Dyster kids gathered in P'cola to celebrate our parents' 60th Birthday. It was so fun to be together for such a special occasion. After a nice family dinner at Carraba's, friends were invited to join us at the house for a drop-in dessert. The cakes could not have been better: carrot cake for my dad and a raspberry elegance cake for my mom. (Let's face it: You never go wrong with Publix!). Julie and I had gone shopping that morning for party decor and couldn't resist the oversized party hats for mom and dad to wear. As kids, we are so proud of our parents. We're proud of their example, their guidance, their wisdom, their faithful walks with God, and we're proud to call them ours! Neither of them look close to 60. I think they would say the night was special because we all we there--well, almost all. David was snowed in in Colorado, but his phone call gave him a hint of participation. With 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson on the way, they have a full life. We love you, mom and dad!
