Summer Recap

Summer came and left and in two weeks, it will be OCTOBER!! Already this morning, I passed a man setting up his pumpkin patch! I do love fall, but I am feeling a bit behind in trying to keep up with all that has happened lately and I only have ONE child. So, for posterity sake, and before too much time passes, I feel the need to highlight some of Brayden's big moments this summer. I realize, dear reader, that you may not find all my musings interesting, but I will appreciate my notes in years to come, which just so happens to be the primary purpose of this blog/journal/photo album/whateveritis. :) So here goes: In late June, Brayden's Great Aunt Jean came to visit for a whole week!

Even though we have no pictures of the two playing in the pool, she did swim with him and take him for a few "motorboat rides"---"motorboat, motorboat, go so slow..." And a month later, Uncle Phil came down and surprised B with his very first set of golf clubs!!! YAY!!

Daddy can't wait to teach him to play golf! (or baseball or football or any other sport for that matter). On that note, two of B's favorite words right now are "baw", translation= ball and "bah", translation= bat. In July, we took our week vacation to Hilton Head (which I've already blogged about) and a week later we turned around and boarded an airplane to Pensacola for a week to visit my family and attend "sissy's" shower for baby #3!!

Even though we were only in Tallahassee for less than 24 hrs, it is always great to see my sis and spend time with her fam and see the kids. Bray also enjoys playing with the girls! (B asking cousin Aubs for some of her goldfish :)--if you're eating, he thinks he should be too!)

We were such proud parents as Brayden did exceptionally well on both Marta and the duration of our flight. Once the plane took off and he ingested about 27 goldfish and 3 oz of apple juice, he fell sound asleep on my shoulder! :)

Really, the only downside was that mommy and daddy were like packmules, loaded down with not only luggage, but a carseat, stroller, and a pack-n-play! I felt like I was traveling across Europe again, trying to board a fast moving train with a stupid duffle bag that had broken wheels! Oh well--we made it! In those instances, we remember very quickly that Brayden weighs A LOT! That week, we all enjoyed time with Abuela y Papi, MeMaw, and Grandma, and Brayden especially enjoyed playing with Lucky, mom and dad's cocker spaniel.
After the shower in Tallahassee, we brought cousin Ellie back with us so she and Brayden could play and keep each other occupied. Chris and I even got to go out on a date! So, we went to one of my old favorite's, Peg Leg Pete's on the beach for their fried shrimp platter! Thanks mom and dad, for a great week.
