it's been a week! now, i know that compared to what others are enduring, my small troubles are NOTHING, so i can hardly complain, but it doesn't change the fact that sometimes when it rains...it pours! b's nose had been running and his voice had been a bit hoarse from friday to saturday. i figured it was a cold. by sunday, his eyes were swollen, almost shut, were leaking yellow/green mucus, and he had a slight fever. i was worried. i couldn't wait for monday to roll around so i could call promptly at 8:30 for a dr. appt. that night, i was awake with him from 2-4:30am because he could barely breathe and i couldn't bare to look at him, he was so pitiful with those eyes! then, we woke early monday am to one of our smoke alarms going off downstairs--the battery was dying and it was chirping that annoying "chirp" every 6 seconds. so c left for the infamous walmart at 6:30 for a round of 9V batteries to silence the birds. we learned at the dr. that b had an awful sinus infection. unfortunately the medicine and milk didn't like each other and he vomited the rest of the day! between changing his clothes, cleaning the floor, wiping his nose, cleaning his eyes, and administering medicine, i was exhausted!! finally, at 4 that afternoon i sat down to turn on oprah, hoping he would play with some toys on his own (the tv had been on pbs most of the day---a RARE occurrence!), but instead he turned to me, shook his head and said "no, no, no." by tuesday chris was feeling sick... there were 2 patients in our house the rest of the week!
