So we transitioned Brayden to his room on Saturday night. (I think I posted that it did not go well). After seeking desperate advice from my sister (THANKS, Julz!) we had a MUCH BETTER night last night. For one, I do think his tummy was bothering him on Saturday and so by Sunday, he was feeling better, but the real kicker is the paci! He kept spitting out or "dropping" the all-time coveted paci from Northside Hospital. Knowing these are hot items, we asked for some extra before leaving the hospital. I never thought that maybe he doesn't like it though. Julie suggested I try another one, so Chris picked up a different kind at the store (NUK) and he seems to LOVE it! How crazy! I also think he really likes his room...it is calming, quiet, dark, and soothing...especially when I turn little lamby on and play the ocean sound! (Thanks, Joanne!) Last night I did exactly what "The Book" says :) and put him down for bed immediately after feeding, diaper change and swaddling. He did great--slept for about 4 1/2 hours and was ready to eat again at 3am. Thank you, Brayden. I am very proud of you.
I, on the other hand, am having tremendous headaches and am trying to assess whether I can keep going with breastfeeding or not. I have been off of my migraine meds since 5 weeks pregnant and cannot take them while nursing. In the meantime though, I am in miserable pain that we all know Tylenol and Advil cannot touch! So...you can pray for me for wisdom on that one. We head to the beach this Saturday and I cannot wait! I am looking forward to actually doing some reading, walks on the beach, major sun time (of course!), relishing in the reality of others desiring to care for Brayden, and a date with Chris! YAY! Love to all...
